Works with Couples and Individuals.
I have a holistic and integrative approach through applying my diverse educational background in medical theory (Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland), neuroscience (University of Toronto), counselling psychology (Yorkville University), as well as research (University Health Network).
By integrating these fields of study in a space of compassion, empathy and experience from my own journey, I can help you achieve your goals and find the change you want. I primarily work with ACT, EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, EFT, Gottman Method and IFS, but include a mix of other modalities to fit your personal needs. I have a special interest in exploring issues of cultural concern, and I look forward to working with you!
Are intense reactions making it harder to develop and maintain relationships? Are you experiencing depression, anxiety, numbness, flashbacks, or compulsive behaviors that take over? Are you feeling stuck and unable to find your place in life? Is it challenging to focus on or complete essential tasks in your day?
I have been there; you do not have to do it alone.
My passion is journeying with women, gender-diverse adults, and first/second-generation immigrants who have experienced relational trauma, leading to addictions, compulsions, overdoing, perfectionism, and feelings of sadness, depression, anxiety or anger.
As a Certified EMDR, IFS Level-1 Trained, and IFS-Informed EMDR (Steps 2 & 3), and Trauma-Focused ACT therapist, I will help you live your best life with what you bring. I draw insights from my lived experiences as an immigrant and survivor/thriver of life and integrate inner knowing, compassion, and neuroscience to create spaces for relief, healing, and transformation.
I have a unique education in counselling psychology and art therapy and have received intensive training in varied modalities. I primarily utilize IFS, EMDR, ACT, and, if you are open to it, art therapy. I also bring with me 25+ years of psyche-related experiences, from assessment/training, school/community-based, outpatient/psychiatric, and family counselling to private practice.
